Tower power! Love dialing in to the physicality o Tower power!
Love dialing in to the physicality of the method with Joe’s standing arm springs.
As much as it’s important to find a variety of challenges in the work, for me, it’s often the stronger exercises that allow me to get out my head and get my Pilates therapy in session...

In this moment, a challenge I’ve found with work In this moment, a challenge I’ve found with working out has been consistency.
I’m aware that one of the best ways to stay motivated is to establish a routine and hit a rhythm, but, for me and many of us, this is not always possible.
So for now it has to be a case of finding the moments between.
So something that has worked well for me has been keeping it real, accepting things as they are and working with that.
As much as I would love to schedule in regular long workouts, the reality is more likely fitting in 10 or 20 mins where I can.
This won’t be forever. I know those longer, more consistent workouts will be regularly back on the menu soon enough...
.
Here’s a few things that have helped me to keep motivated:
.
Plan ahead and decide how the workout is gonna look beforehand. This way I avoid wasting time arguing with myself about what I’m doing, or procrastinating long enough to end up with no time left at all.
.
Do my own thing. It’s my workout. What others are doing on social media is there’s. I love it for some inspiration and fresh ideas, but, feel no pressure or guilt. It doesn’t have to look insta worthy, so aim to focus on how it feels.
.
Enjoy it for what it is and celebrate anything that we get done, even on days that feel a long way from our A game. We’ve hit the mat and are in motion, that in itself is a big win!
.
Keep it simple. I can’t talk enough about how regularly returning to basic workouts is a great way to keep our practice solid in its foundations. I also find it easier to keep focused and keep the movement honest.
.
Roll out my mat in advance. It’s much harder to ignore an unrolled mat, waiting and enticing us to get moving.
.
These are just a few things that work for me. Would love to hear what keeps you motivated and moving...

Friday #fail The power of Pilates can be the magi Friday #fail
The power of Pilates can be the magic ingredient that fine tunes sporting performance or the discovery that connects us to hidden depths of strength and stamina...
Sometimes though it’s simply the difference between falling and not falling...

Here’s a wobbly version of pistol squats with the arm springs.
Have a great weekend everyone, may Pilates keep you standing, and smiling through all life’s wobbles... 🤙

A Hundred reasons to do #Pilates . Getting the bl A Hundred reasons to do #Pilates

Getting the blood flowing and some warmth into the body is a useful one.
It’s been a cold Cali this last week and I know theres been many places all over experiencing some Arctic like weather. So I hope you can all stay warm from within by hitting the mat and firing up your powerhouse 🔥
.
Keep moving and have a great week! 🤙

I believe that one of the hardest things about pr I believe that one of the hardest things about practicing is often simply getting going in the first place... rolling out the mat, or starting the movement... especially in times like these.
Once we’re in motion the rest tends to follow, but finding that initial motivation to move can be challenging.
.
So to hopefully help keep us moving, here are a couple of things that I find help me keep my practice in motion:
- schedule yourself in: find realistic times in your week and actually book yourself in, as if you were your own client. It’s surprising the motivational power of having your workout formally scheduled.
- Be realistic on time: ah, in an ideal world we’d all love that luxurious hour long session, but the truth is that may not be realistic. 10-30 minutes of quality movement can be extremely effective.
- Move with a friend: why not make it a zoom date and work out with a friend or colleague. Knowing that someone else is there with you, will make you more likely to roll out the mat. Likewise you’ll be holding them accountable too, so there’s a definite positive that works both ways.
There’s many more ways to keep our practice on track, but these are a good place to start.
If you still could use some cheering on or would like some support with what workout may be best for you, reach out. DM me and I’ll be happy to help.
.
Have a great rest of the week 🤙
